Description
Kisspeptin-10 | GPR54 Agonist — Research Grade
Kisspeptin-10 (KP-10) is the 10-amino acid biologically active C-terminal fragment of the KISS1 gene product kisspeptin-54. It acts as a potent agonist at the kisspeptin receptor (KISS1R/GPR54), the primary gate controlling GnRH pulse release from the hypothalamus.
Mechanism of Action
- GPR54/KISS1R agonism — activates the kisspeptin receptor on GnRH neurons, triggering pulsatile GnRH secretion
- LH/FSH stimulation — GnRH downstream triggers pituitary LH and FSH release, driving gonadal steroidogenesis
- Puberty gating — kisspeptin neuron activation is required for pubertal onset; loss-of-function KISS1R mutations cause hypogonadotropic hypogonadism
- Negative energy balance sensor — kisspeptin neurons integrate metabolic signals (leptin, insulin) to modulate reproductive axis activity
Research Areas
Kisspeptin-10 is studied in hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, female reproductive cycles, male testosterone regulation, puberty timing, and anorexia-related reproductive suppression.
For Research Use Only. Rainbow Peptide supplies Kisspeptin-10 exclusively for in vitro and laboratory research purposes. Not for human or veterinary use.
