Description
GHRP-6 | First-Generation GH Secretagogue — Research Grade
GHRP-6 (His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) is a synthetic hexapeptide and one of the first characterised growth hormone secretagogues (GHS). It acts as a potent ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist and has been used as a reference compound in GH secretagogue pharmacology.
Mechanism of Action
- GHS-R1a agonism — potent activation of the ghrelin receptor in the pituitary and hypothalamus, stimulating robust GH pulse release
- Ghrelin-mimetic — mimics endogenous ghrelin signalling including strong appetite/hunger stimulation (orexigenic effect)
- Cortisol/prolactin elevation — raises ACTH, cortisol, and prolactin at higher doses, distinguishing it from Ipamorelin
- IGF-1 downstream elevation — GH-mediated increase in hepatic IGF-1 studied in deficiency models
Research Areas
GHRP-6 is studied in GH deficiency, cachexia, appetite regulation, GI motility (gastroparesis models), and as a reference secretagogue in GHS pharmacology.
For Research Use Only. Rainbow Peptide supplies GHRP-6 exclusively for in vitro and laboratory research purposes. Not for human or veterinary use.

Dr. S. Ramos –
GHRP-6 is a cornerstone peptide in our GH secretagogue panel. Rainbow Peptide’s lot verified at 98.9% purity. Ghrelin receptor activity was consistent with published benchmarks. COA included both HPLC and mass spec data.
T. Magnusson –
Reliable source for GHRP-6. Third order now, purity consistently above 98%. The orexigenic pathway response in our in vitro model was as expected. Clean COA, fast shipping, appropriate cold packaging.
A. Okonkwo –
GHRP-6 performed well in our assay. Minor variability in peptide content is within acceptable range. COA was thorough. Arrived safely with cold pack. Dissolved easily in sterile saline.
