Description

KPV | Alpha-MSH C-terminal Tripeptide — Research Grade

KPV (alpha-MSH 11-13: Lys-Pro-Val) is the C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Despite its small size, it retains the anti-inflammatory signalling activity of the parent peptide and has been studied extensively in gut inflammation and wound healing models.

Mechanism of Action

  • MC1R agonism — activates the melanocortin 1 receptor expressed on immune and epithelial cells
  • NF-kB inhibition — suppresses the canonical inflammatory transcription factor intracellularly, independent of cell surface receptor binding
  • Gut epithelial barrier — studied for restoration of tight junction integrity in leaky gut and IBD models
  • Wound healing — promotes fibroblast proliferation and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine expression at wound sites

Research Areas

KPV is studied in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn disease models, colitis, gut permeability, and wound healing. Its tripeptide structure confers enhanced gut stability relevant to oral delivery research.

For Research Use Only. Rainbow Peptide supplies KPV exclusively for in vitro and laboratory research purposes. Not for human or veterinary use.

  1. Dr. K. Hoffmann

KPV tripeptide for our NF-κB inflammatory pathway research. Rainbow Peptide’s lot verified at 98.7% purity. Anti-inflammatory response in our colon epithelial model matched published data. COA detailed and traceable.

  2. S. Adesanya

KPV used in our IBD model research. Excellent purity and consistent batch quality. The MSH-derived tripeptide behaved as expected in our mucosal inflammation assay. Fast shipping and good cold-chain maintenance.

  3. P. Christensen

KPV dissolved cleanly and showed the expected anti-inflammatory activity in our IL-8 suppression assay. Purity >98%. COA was thorough. Good packaging for a small tripeptide.
