Description
Epithalon Capsules | Telomerase-Activating Tetrapeptide — Research Grade
Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) is a synthetic tetrapeptide originally isolated from the pineal gland extract by Prof. Vladimir Khavinson. It is the most-studied peptide in telomere biology, with preclinical data demonstrating telomerase activation, telomere elongation, and lifespan extension across multiple model organisms. These capsules (10mg per capsule, 30 capsules) provide a practical oral research format.
Mechanism of Action
- Telomerase activation — induces expression and activity of telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) in somatic cell models
- Telomere elongation — preclinical data show measurable telomere lengthening after repeated exposure
- Pineal regulation — normalises melatonin synthesis and circadian rhythm-related gene expression in aged models
- Antioxidant activity — reduces markers of oxidative stress (lipid peroxidation, ROS) in cell culture models
Research Areas
Epithalon is studied in cellular ageing, telomere biology, circadian rhythm research, and oncology models. It represents the peptidergic approach to longevity research, complementing small-molecule interventions such as NAD+ and MOTS-c.
